Georgia 55 Grant Program

  • Throughout 2020 and 2021, our coalition of co-founders and organizers hustled on evenings, weekends and even in-between meetings for our full-time jobs, in order to make voting more accessible to Atlantans. We had little experience organizing before building GA55 but allowed our mission to drive us forward. Our passion to help others combined with the overwhelming support from volunteers, partners, friends, family and donors has demonstrated to us that anyone can make an impact.

We believe that grassroots organizers are essential to improving the lives in our communities and thus, we are launching a grant program to give away the majority of our remaining funds. We will be awarding five $5,000 grants to local community organizers and micro-organizations dedicated to helping Georgians, whether their focus is voting rights or another essential issue (environmental justice, housing justice, food insecurity, public transport across the state, to name a few).

We will be collecting applications from now through October 15th, 2021 and the recipients will be announced after November 1st. Organizations may apply directly or a friend of the organization may apply on their behalf.

To be considered for a $5,000 grant, your organization or coalition needs to meet three requirements: submit a completed form, have some verifiable presence (Instagram, website, Twitter), and be Georgia-based. You may also submit an application on behalf of an organization that meets these requirements.

Please note that as of October 16th, we are no longer accepting applications but if you’ve already applied, stay tuned for updates at the beginning of November, 2021.
